Graduate of Young Harris College and North Georgia College and State University. Degree in business and accounting. Various other leardership, accounting, budgeting, and reporting courses over the years

Serving my fourth year as Chairperson of Etowah Water and Sewer Board of Directors, Member of New Bethel Baptist Church and Member of Dawson County Kiwanis Club
Employment:
I will be starting my second term as Dawson County Tax Commissioner January 2009.
Prior the being elected Tax Commissioner, I was employed by Lockheed Aerospace for over 35 years as a budget and control analyst.
Hobbies include:
spending time with my grandchildren, sewing, traveling and reading.

Jim King - Vice Chairman
Jim King was born in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Central Gwinnett High School and the University of Georgia School of Environmental Design, Athens, GA as a Professional Land Planner. His education includes both city and regional planning. He is a Georgia Registered Landscape Architect.
Jim owns a multi-disciplinary firm of landscape architects, land planners, civil engineers, and surveyors in Buford, GA. He is a member of several professional and civic organizations including: The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) Environmental Advisory Council, Georgia Dept. of Community Affairs(DCA)and Georgia Dept. of Industry, Trade, and Tourism(GDITT)- Regional Advisory Council, Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District Advisory Council, Georgia Mountains Regional Development Council, Gwinnett Council for Quality Growth, Lake Sidney Lanier Watershed Governance Council, Upper Etowah Basin Water Resource Planning Committee, and the Dawson County Grassroots Economic Planning Committee. Jim is heavily involved in preserving water resources and fostering carefully planned development/growth. Jim is also a member of the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce and the Dawson County Republican Party.
Jim served as the District 3 Commissioner and as Vice-Chairman of the Dawson County Board of Commissioners. He was elected to serve his second, four-year term in November, 2002 and took office January 1, 2003. Mr. King's term of office ended December 31, 2006.
Jim moved to Dawson County in 1981, and after attending UGA, left for a short while and then brought his wife-Debbie; and three children- Danielle, Joshua, and Ciarra here in 1993.
Lake Gibson - Secretary
Born in Trenton, Georgia in 1947. Married his wife, Ann, in 1967 and have 2 grown children, a son and a daughter and 3 grand-daughters. Moved to Dawson County in 1979. Live on Ann’s grandfather’s home place; attend Harmony Baptist Church, where I am a Deacon. A Veteran, having served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. Retired in 2008 after 22 years as Vice President Administrative Services for Lanier Technical College.

Tony Kellar
Tony has been married to Gwen (Adams) Kellar for 19 years. 3 children: Matt 16, Drew 13, and Hannah 10. All 3 children attend Dawson County schools and are active in various activities.
Tony has been employed by Chick-fil-A for 19 years. He was employed at the Chick-fil-A Corporate Office in Atlanta, GA for 2 years, He owned and operated a restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina for 10 years, and has owned and operated the Dawsonville Chick-fil-A for 7 years, as well as the Dahlonega Chick-fil-A for 3 years.
He currently serves on the Dawson County High School Advisory Council, and Dawson County Park and Recreation Advisory Board. Tony is an active park & rec baseball coach and a member of the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce.
Enjoys: hunting, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, and spending time with family.

Deborah Stowers
Deborah C. Stowers was born and raised in Dawson County to proud parents, Dean & Pat Couch. She has spent the majority of her life here, raising two sons, Jeff and Jason. She is the proud grandmother of four to date. Mrs. Stowers is an honor graduate of Dawson County High School, attended 1-2 years of college and participated in many training classes in human resources and management.
Employment: Owner of Lanier Employment Services for 20 years/sold to Spherion in 2006. She is currently serving as the Director of Professional Recruiting at Spherion.
Community Activities/Hobbies: A member of Harmony Baptist Church. Her community activities and hobbies include the following:

Brooke Anderson - General Manager
Brooke Anderson was born in Gainesville, Georgia. He and his wife Carrie have two children, Grace and Samuel.
He is the General Manager of Etowah Water and Sewer Authority, a position he has held since November 2006. Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Anderson has held several leadership positions with the City of Gainesville Public Utilities Department. He brought nine years of experience in the water and wastewater profession including master planning, capital improvement program development, detailed project management, and comprehensive financial planning.
Mr. Anderson is a passionate advocate of water profession and its responsibilities to customers, communities, economic development, and the environment. He has been an active participant in the development of Georgia’s State-wide Water Management Plan.
Mr. Anderson is a member of American Water Works Association and the Georgia Association of Water Professionals. He is also the Chairman of the Small to Medium Systems Committee and a member of the Legislative Committee of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.
Education:
Mr. Anderson earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University in 1997. He is also a registered professional engineer in Georgia. Mr. Anderson is a graduate of Georgia Academy for Economic Development’s Regional Economic & Leadership Development program and the University of Georgia’s Leadership Dawson County 2008 program.
