Doris Cook is the Resource Manager of Etowah Water & Sewer Authority, one of several positions held since July 1996. Prior to joining the Authority, Mrs. Cook held several management positions with doctor offices and a corporate medical office. She brought twenty plus years of experience in accounting, customer service, public relations, organization and office management.
Mrs. Cook is passionate about her community, the environment and an advocate for families and children. Her experience in project planning and management as well as being a liaison with both local, State and Federal agencies helps the Authority promote stewardship of our natural resources.
She currently serves on the Coosa Basin Advisory Council and DASA (Dawson Against Substance Abuse). Doris is a member of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals, Rivers Alive and the Georgia Water Wise Council.
Mrs. Cook is a Milton High School graduate. She is also a graduate of Georgia Academy for Economic Development’s Regional Economic & Leadership Development program and the University of Georgia’s Leadership Dawson County 2002 Program. She has plans to finish her business management degree at Lanier Technical College.
She and husband, Rick have two children, Jessica and Zach.
The Resource Department’s main purpose is to direct and oversee the long term planning of water and wastewater resources, attends meetings, make presentations and plans, develop and coordinates public relation mediums and assume other responsibilities for the Authority as needed with the Board of Directors, General Manager, other departments, consulting engineers and local, State & Federal Officials.
